Congratulations to the members of our Accelerated Management Program; Matt Venner, Stewart Soh, Alyssa Mosca and Amitoj Singh. The team have topped the global leaderboard in The Fresh Connection Competition and will now go on to the Global Final in Athens, Greece where they will compete to be named the Fresh Connection WorldChampions! The Fresh Connection is an annual supply chain management competition where teams from companies and universities around the world compete against each other over several rounds. The aim of the competition is to turn around the fortunes of a struggling juice company, Fresh Connection, through strategy and collaboration. In the first round the team had to make decisions on supplier selection, contract negotiation, sales forecasting and workforce planning. During the following rounds the team had to continue to make strategic decisions whilst dealing with issues including potential product contamination, a health-scare linked to one of the juice ingredients in the and a possible work stoppage. At the end of Stage 2, the Metro team topped the global leaderboard ahead of teams from household names including DHL, XPO, Coca-Cola, Nike and many more. The team will now go on to represent Metro and Canada at the Global Final in Athens in September. Congratulations again to Matt, Stewart, Alyssa and Amitoj.
